Bootcamp

I started bootcamp on Monday this week. It has left me pretty sore but feeling great. It's HARD work, but I'm definitely feeling stronger. Most of the trainers are really great and very motivating. Like I said, it's really, really hard, but, it's generally pretty fun. I'm doing it with my mum and sister, and 60 or so other people. Mum has a few friends from work there and they're all really fun people. My sister and I are getting along better and respecting each other a little more, too, so, that's nice. It's hard not to pretend like we're not a bit 'Holly and Mel'. Even though Kate is the younger sister, she's definitely the Holly. ;)
Since January I've lost 7 kilos, and I'm really starting to notice the differences! My jeans fall down a lot, and the legs are baggy. So, it usually looks like I've pooed my pants or I'm a skater boy or something. It's very classy.
Anyhow, in other news, I started a new job last week, and it's PRETTY GOOD ;) ;) ;)
Actually, it's great. I love it. :D If you've ever gone from working in a deadend job where all you do is make derros fatter and poorer, to taking care of absolutely precious people, you'll know where I'm coming from. :)
That's about it. I'm babysitting my friend Heather's kids at the moment. They've been pretty good. Boy and girl. Girl is older sister. Girl can be a bit bossy. Boy can be a bit of a stirrer. Boy and girl bicker. But, that's about the extent of our problems.
Enjoy your Sunday!

How many miles did we wander?
Well, well, well (this seems to be something that I do everytime I blog) .. It has been a long time. I don't know why I leave it so long. I'm not busy enough not to have time to blog.
Lots of very exciting things and lots of very unexciting things have been happening all at the same time, so I guess they have sort of balanced each other out!
Last night (Thursday 5th) I went to a spectacular concert. The Waifs were playing at The Saloon as part of their national tour. I'd known about it for a long time, but since my mum didn't want to go, I figured I just wouldn't go. But at about 8 o'clock last night, I decided that I didn't want to miss it, no way, no how, and boy was I right. I drove to town and found a park, walked down to The Saloon where quite a large crowd was growing, and stood amongst everyone. Luckily, I stood in front of the right door! After about 10 minutes they opened the door I was standing in front of, and I got to go straight in! Everyone who had been standing there for ages were in after me! Ha! I stood in front of the stage and watched the crowd shuffle in. Of course, I had to stop by the counter and buy a ticket, but, I still got in earlier than mostly everyone else. Not too long after, I saw my friend Lani and her friend Lauren walk in, which was fantastic, because it meant that I wasn't at the concert by myself (well, with a whole bunch of strangers by myself, that is).
Anyway, The Waifs were AMAZING. The two girls (well, women) are sisters and they have their guitarist and backup singer, Josh, and two other band members. But, the girls are just... sigh... so connected and hilarious and lovely. Their songs are brilliant, and it was SO SO SO cool to sing along with the crowd and with them. I was right in front of Donna (the blonde one) and we had lots of *I smile at Donna while I sing along to the songs she wrote and she gives me a cheeky smile and wink* moments. So awesome. They switched ends for one song, just to share the love around, and I got to do the same thing with Vikki aswell. They're GREAT.
During the show, this really drunk/on some kind of trip-out drug girl was flailing herself all over the front of the stage and getting into the music in quite a sensual manner (ehhrmm) and reached over and pulled Donna's setlist off the stage. Donna got it back, kindly, and the girl eventually walked away after saying "Oh my God thank you soooo much for coming to Tasmania, I really appreciate it!". Sigh. Anyhow, towards the end of the show, during a song, in a part where Donna wasn't singing, she bends down to me and hands me a bottle of water (400ml Pink Breast Cancer Mount Franklin, to be exact) and was like "Do you want some water??" and I was all starstruck and was like "Who? Me? Uhm, sure! Thank you!...?" And, I mean, if she had thought I was flushed or thirsty, I was going to feel weird about not drinking it, but AS IF I WAS GOING TO DRINK IT!!! I have Waifs water as a souvenir now!! I was saying to Lani after the show "I didn't know people were so nice like that anymore!!" (I know plenty of nice people, but, you know, strangers, famous musicians, you wouldn't necessarily expect to just offer you a bottle of water during their concert!!) I ended up grabbing the setlist after the show too (if I didn't someone else would have!) So now I have a little shrine to The Waifs on my desk with my water, my ticket, and my setlist! :) Yay!
They are so, so, so good live. Their CDs are wonderful, but live, wow. Awesome. I will definitely see them again.
What else? Uni started back last week. I only have two days of class. It's gonna be pretty good. :) I've also pretty much also found a new job (oh, yeah, I quit Hungry Jack's. Best decision ever, even if I have been fairly poverty stricken lately), (thanks Lisa) so, fingers crossed as I wait to hear confirmation about that.
I'm not going to Western Australia. I'm looking into going to Canberra (to my old primary school, actually, which would be awesome awesome awesome) for my 4th year prac, but, it's only 6 weeks long (I know! What a cop out!) so I won't be gone for long!
Everything else is going pretty well. I'd add pictures, but I don't have the cord for my phone (which has served as my camera lately because my brother has my digital camera) (oh, yeah, my parents are going to buy me an SLR when I graduate. CAN'T WAIT.)
Do you like the new header? I made it with my friend Sherina. She's one of the crazy Kina Grannis (www.kinagrannis.com) (why haven't you gone there yet?!) fans just like me. Speaking of Kina Grannis, she just gets better and better and better (and better, and better). She just finished her Teeny Tiny Tour of a few major cities in the US, and her album will come out in the next few months. Cannot wait.
That's about all. :)
I'll try to be better. I'd like for the blog to also be a bit of an outlet of what I'm thinking, not just what I'm doing, so, stay tuned for that. (Just giving you warning, since, what I think could very often be super strange.)
